The basic truth no one wants to hear
Another day, another top writer on this platform ranting about how her reach has plummeted, and it’s all because Medium is treating her like shit and because they don’t value female talent. This person is literally one of the top-earning writers here, but apparently Medium is screwing her over because of her body parts.
Meanwhile, this piece had something like eighteen THOUSAND likes on it.
Yeah, cry me a fucking river.
I’m sure the reason I’m not one of the top writers on the platform is that the powers that be at Medium don’t like people whose right foot is 1.5 sizes smaller than the left. Jesus, the excuses people come up with for performance even when they’re at the top are mind-blowing.
Ok, now that I’ve got that out of my system, let’s get into this and get something out of the way up front: we’ve all questioned the algorithm here. I’ve done it, you’ve done it, the people making a dump truck of money have done it. When stats suddenly don’t go your way for a while, there’s gotta be something wrong that’s not your doing, right?
