5 Good Things That Came from the Election
Even if you don’t like the result
Before we even get into this, if you’re one of the nutjobs who has a propensity to meltdown on TikTok over election results, or who thinks the US is “literally The Handmaid’s Tale” — this may not be for you. You probably lack the mental acuity to even do your job effectively, let alone have sound political opinions.
The electoral system has legitimacy again
I’m not from the US, and what happened in 2020 had even me tilting my head to the side and narrowing my eyes, doubting what was going on. There sure did seem to be a lot of coincidences and things that didn’t seem quite right about it, even if you didn’t jump straight to the conclusion of election interference.
Not this time though. There’s absolutely no doubt about the result, and it’s not just because there was an incredibly clear winner. It’s because there wasn’t even a hint of incompetence or shenanigans.
Apart from a couple of embarrassing outliers, the states handled the voting quickly and competently. Regardless of what happened in 2020, both of those conditions should instil a high level of confidence in the system going into 2028 and quash any future talk of elections being stolen by both sides.
